3. SHIPPING THROUGH BOB GO

3.1. RealTrade uses Bob Go to facilitate shipping and courier arrangements for eligible auction purchases.

3.2. Shipping options and costs may vary depending on:

  • Delivery address;

  • Parcel size;

  • Parcel weight;

  • Number of items;

  • Dimensions of the item;

  • Courier availability;

  • Delivery service selected; and

3.5. RealTrade will only arrange shipment after the auction purchase has been paid in full and the applicable shipping information has been received.

5. COURIER DELIVERY

5.1. Once an item has been handed to the courier, delivery is subject to the courier’s operating procedures, delivery routes and estimated delivery times.

5.3. Delivery times may be affected by:

6. RECEIVING YOUR DELIVERY

6.1. The buyer or an authorised person should inspect the parcel when receiving delivery.

6.2. Where the outer packaging appears visibly damaged, the buyer should, where reasonably possible:

  • Photograph the packaging before opening;

  • Photograph any visible damage;

  • Record the condition of the parcel; and

  • Notify RealTrade as soon as reasonably possible.

6.3. Buyers should retain packaging where there is a suspected delivery-related damage issue until RealTrade has completed any necessary investigation.

6.4. Signing for delivery does not, by itself, prevent a buyer from raising a legitimate issue where applicable under South African law.

7. LARGE, HEAVY OR SPECIALISED ITEMS

7.1. Certain auction items may not be suitable for standard courier delivery.

7.2. This may include:

  • Large appliances;

  • Furniture;

  • Heavy machinery;

  • Oversized equipment;

  • Fragile items;

  • Items requiring specialised handling; or

  • Items exceeding a courier’s size or weight limitations.

7.3. Where standard courier delivery is not available, RealTrade may require the buyer to arrange collection or agree to an alternative delivery arrangement.

7.4. Any additional delivery, handling or specialised transport costs will be communicated to the buyer before the applicable service is arranged.

8. ONSITE COLLECTION

8.1. Onsite collection is available from RealTrade’s premises.

9. COLLECTION BY ANOTHER PERSON

9.1. A buyer may arrange for another person to collect an item on their behalf, provided RealTrade has been informed where reasonably necessary.

9.2. The person collecting the item may be required to provide:

  • Their name;

  • The buyer’s name;

  • Auction or order details;

  • Proof of payment; and/or

  • Identification.

9.3. RealTrade may refuse to release an item where the identity or authority of the person collecting the item cannot reasonably be verified.

10. COLLECTION OF LARGE OR HEAVY ITEMS

10.1. Buyers are responsible for arranging suitable transport for items collected from the RealTrade premises.

10.2. The buyer should ensure that the vehicle used for collection is suitable for the size, weight and nature of the item.

10.3. Where an item requires more than one person to safely load or transport it, the buyer is responsible for arranging appropriate assistance unless RealTrade has expressly agreed otherwise.

10.4. RealTrade may provide reasonable assistance with loading where possible, but buyers remain responsible for ensuring that the item can be safely transported.

11. COLLECTION PERIOD

11.1. RealTrade may specify a collection period for each auction or item.

11.2. Buyers should collect their purchases within the applicable collection period.

11.3. Where a buyer cannot collect an item within the specified period, they should contact RealTrade as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements.

11.4. RealTrade reserves the right to charge reasonable storage or handling fees where such fees have been communicated to the buyer in advance.

12. UNCOLLECTED ITEMS

12.1. If an item remains uncollected after the applicable collection period, RealTrade may contact the buyer to arrange collection.

12.2. Continued failure to collect an item may result in reasonable storage or handling charges where applicable.

12.3. Nothing in this clause authorises RealTrade to deal with an uncollected item contrary to applicable South African law.

13. COMBINING AUCTION ITEMS

13.1. Where a buyer wins multiple auctions, RealTrade may, where practical, allow items to be combined into a single shipment.

13.2. Whether items can be combined will depend on:

  • Item size;

  • Item weight;

  • Packaging requirements;

  • Courier limitations;

  • Delivery destination; and

  • Other logistical considerations.

13.3. RealTrade will determine the appropriate shipping arrangement based on the circumstances of the items being shipped.

14. PACKAGING

14.1. RealTrade will take reasonable steps to package items appropriately for their nature before dispatch.

14.2. Packaging methods may vary depending on the item.

14.3. Used, damaged, fragile, irregularly shaped or oversized items may require different packaging methods from standard retail products.

14.4. Where an item’s condition is already disclosed in the auction listing, packaging will not be regarded as a representation that the item itself is new or undamaged.

15. SHIPPING TO REMOTE AREAS

15.1. Certain delivery locations may attract additional courier charges or may not be serviced by standard courier options.

15.2. Where additional charges apply, the buyer will be informed where reasonably possible before the shipment is arranged.

15.3. Where delivery to a particular location is unavailable, RealTrade may offer an alternative delivery arrangement or onsite collection.

16. DELIVERY AND AUCTION ITEM CONDITION

16.2. All auction items are sold voetstoots (β€œas is”), subject to the RealTrade Auction Terms & Conditions and applicable South African law.

16.3. The use of a courier does not change the condition in which an auction item was sold.

16.4. Buyers should carefully review the item’s auction listing before choosing shipping or collection.

16.5. Known defects, damage, missing components or other relevant conditions will be disclosed in the auction listing where reasonably applicable.

17. SHIPPING DAMAGE

17.1. If an item appears to have suffered damage during transportation, the buyer should contact RealTrade as soon as reasonably possible.

17.2. The buyer should provide photographs and any other information reasonably requested by RealTrade to assist with investigating the matter.

17.3. RealTrade may require photographs of:

  • The outer packaging;

  • Shipping labels;

  • Internal packaging;

  • The item;

  • Any visible damage; and

  • Other relevant information.

17.4. RealTrade may liaise with the applicable courier where necessary.

17.5. Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

18. CHANGE OF DELIVERY METHOD

18.1. Once an item has been handed to the courier, changes to the delivery address or delivery method may not always be possible.

18.2. Any additional costs arising from a buyer-requested change may be payable by the buyer.

18.3. Buyers should contact RealTrade as soon as possible if they need to change delivery arrangements.
